Tanuki Restaurant, San Francisco

Tanuki is a great place. It is unlike the many trendy sushi bars with $9.00 Sake martini's. The staff always warmly greet you and special dishes will frequently be shared at the Sushi bar. The fish is always fresh and prepared perfectly. Outside of Japan town, it is one of the cities oldest run Japanese Restaurants and the fact that it is family run gives it that much more charm. If you are looking for a great meal in a relaxed environment this is the place. If you are looking for Sake martinis and waitresses dressed provacatively, then this is not the place for you.
