Delfina Restaurant, San Francisco

I love Delfina and every time I'm in SF (about 10 times a year) I go pick up two margarita pizzas to eat at home, and they never last past 12 hours. The only problem is that they don't take reservations if you want to eat at the restaurant, but the wait is never near as long as they say it will be.

Very good pizza! They also open one on California and Fillmore.

By far one of my favorite places. All of the entrees are amazing, you really can not go wrong. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, so good to go a little earlier to beat the rush.

delfina never disappoints! the pork belly was deliciously crispy on the outside, savory on the inside, and served in a sauce that we hungrily sopped up with the bread. the roast chicken was also flavored very well such that it was very juicy inside. if you're a gnocchi fan (i don't eat much in general, i find it too heavy), then you will like their gnocchi also. my only complaint would be that my mashed potatoes were sitting in a puddle of oil, so i didn't touch those. definitely save room for sf's most perfect buterrmilk panna cotta!

I saw the restaurant on yahoo travel so I decided to try it ... the food was delicious... but the service there was terrible, we were seated for 10+ min before someone came to serve us & pretty much no service afterwards ... host said tables are for reservation only but after I was seated, I noticed at least 2 parties got tables w/o reservation. TERRIBLE!

The food is good but not enough for the price we paid. We were not full so after dinner, we ordered a party tray of sushi. I would not go back.

I just returned from eating at Delfina for the first time. I was prompted to travel to the Mission neighborhood by the excellent reviews. I grabbed the last table at about 7:00pm on this Friday night. The restaurant was busy and crowded, a bit noisy, and with excellent high energy. The service was excellent. My salad and pasta course were both full of flavor and excellent overall. The bitter mixed greens, pancetta, walnut, and parmesan salad with dark balsamic dressing was very, very good. I then had the Selamo Battuta (flat, triangle-shaped pasta forms) with fennel sausage and ragu. The pasta was al dente, and the sausage and ragu mixture was very tasty. The iced tea was the unsweetened tropical variety (i.e., excellent). I am really pleased with my choice and will be sure to seek this restaurant out the next time I return to the City. Wicozani

While I can't speak to dinner or event much of the dessert menu, Delfina's flourless chocolate cake has brought me back many times over the past few years. Its warm and gooey center explodes (hence molten) from its flourless chocolate exterior, and has trumped any similar flourless cake I've tried in the city. They're usually crowded, so dessert seating was always at the bar, but its a nice looking restaurant with a reasonably loud din.

This is a great place to sit back, enjoy the scenery and a great meal. the action never slows dow, the waiters practically run back and forth, the kitchen is open and busy and the meals wonderful. do not go here if you want a quiet dinner but if you are after great food in a bsuy room this is your place.
