Just want good food.

Sucked, this restaurant was recommended by someone on the street and figured I'd try it. Incredible rip-off, surprisingly it was crowded and I can't figure out why. Possibly it is just super-hyped but the waitress was like a used car salesman, agressively recommended anything that was the most expensive and the portion on the rainbow salad was sad. The waiter asks if you've ever had it and then proceeds to explain how there are four kinds of noodles in it for 11.00 dollars. It tasted like a bad Thai salad to me. Also found a little wood stick or needle in the curry. The somosa soup was crumbled cornbread in a soup that tasted similar to the dressing on the salad. I am still trying to figure out why it was crowded. I really disliked this place. Also, the food was served out of order, salad and soup together, then a long wait for the curry. Left hungry. I should have gone to my old standby up the street, King of Thai Noodle House. They've got great noodles. Try their seafood soup.

Tea leaf salad, coconut rice with curry eggplant was phenomenal. First time eating Burmese food and made a point to only order the Burmese dishes. would like to go again and try the other dishes!

Food is very good but very expensive relative to comparable alternatives. No reservations policy is maddening. I cannot endure the noise level and as a result will only do take out. They clearly do a significant amount of take out business, yet you can easily wait 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge your existence in order just to pick up orders. Good thing their food is so since good customer service is non-existent.

The tea leaf salad was the winner with the different textures with the nuts/seeds and just the depth of the dish. The Burmese style curry is very flavorful and nothing like any other type of curry - no coconut milk or even Indian style. Overall, the food was prepared well and recommend going family style to try all the variety of dishes.

Burma Superstar is in fact a "superstar." The tea leaf and rainbow salads are divine (I crave them every so often), and the jasmine rice and creamy beef dishes are delicious. However, this restaurant is not for the impatient. Expect long lines and a longer wait for dinner. To pass the time, wander around the corner to the soda shop and enjoy dessert before dinner with friends

Burma is of course now called Myanmar, which I believe is a local dialect for amoebic consequences of poor hygiene I have never met a person who did not love the food, the people and the following day off work due to food-borne illness.

Outstanding introduction to Burmese cuisine. If Thai is said to be between Indian and Chinese, this is between Thai and Indian fare. Come for an early or late lunch to avoid the crowds and take in the smells and flavors of an ethnic tradition that I hope grows.

Delicious southeast asian food, fresh, interesting, well served. Decor is simple but pleasant. A little known treasure.
