food was good

hit or miss. take your chances nice place for get together, but food ok pricy

On every visit to the States before, the beef I have had has been outstanding and really packed with the kind of flavour we do have, but rarely get, in the UK, so I had high hopes for this place. What I got was a big slab of the tenderest but, wait for it, utterly tasteless beef that I have ever eaten, accompanied by sloppy mash and the most revolting spinach ever. Couldn't wait to get out. There are far far better places to eat in San Francisco.

Its by far the best Prime Rib I have had in the world! Juicy Juicy Yum Yum! I miss it so much!

if u can afford it, go for it

If you asked me to make a comment about this restaurant 2-3 years ago, I would have given it 5 stars. I have been a frequent patron to this restaurant for the past 14 years. I liked it over Lawry's and many others that serve pretty much the same thing: Prime Rib. The meat they served used to be of higher quality and were tastier. Now, the meat is no longer as tender and it is sometimes chewy. The old flavor is lost and the meat is now served almost tasteless sometimes. Waiters and waitresses are also over-worked and they now can pay so little attention to those on and off the tables that I would rate their services as mediocre. And thinking about that line just to get a table. If I hadn't been there before, my impression on this restaurant could be much better. It was once the standard against all else. New management has really made a difference. I am sure they are making more money these days though.

Prime Rib is one of my best favorits. And this place is great. You get a menu with one price, that has everything included: $32 for a huge Prime Rib (I would say ~0.8kg), really good salad, and much more. All you need to add is drink. If you think that this price is high -- think again. On the down side: there is no bear, just whine. You should call first. I didn't, and I had to wait for about an hour. It was worth it. I will come again, that's for sure.
