Angkor Borei restaurant is a family owned restaurant run by Tom and Chinhan. Angkor Borei has been opened since 1987 and was opened by a family who moved to San Francisco from Cambodia. Our family has worked with Angkor Borei since 1988. We feel fortunate to be able to serve you the same kind of savory and delectable Cambodian cuisine that we give our family. Most intriguing was the Spinach appetizer with raw ginger cubes, lemon cubes, peanuts, cucumber, and toasted coconut to roll in the spinach leaf. The dipping sauce was a bonus taste. So unique were the combinations. The variety of vegetarian food was a delight, and the vegetables were cooked a perfect tender crisp in the most delicious ever red curry sauce.
I've actually only eaten in the restaurant once and had a very nice experience with the service. But the food was so good that I've taken to ordering takeout from here several times a month. The spring rolls are crispy and delicious and you've got to try the beef with spinach in a peanut sauce. Their warm Cambodian noodles (on the lunch menu but available for dinner) are also fantastic. I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered here. So if a cross between Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese food sounds good to you, try this place.
