Buena Vista Cafe, San Francisco

Love Love Love the Buena Vista! I am not a fan of Irish coffee however I am a fan of the BV's Irish coffee. The breakfast is fantastic as well! Located just a block from the wharf and just across the street from the Cable car turnabout!

My wife and I were here with her parents and we had a blast. We met and talked to many locals as well as other visitors. They make THE BEST Irish coffee I have ever had. Very nice.

This place is great. Excellent food. Friendly service. Watch out for the flying napkins! A coworker recommended this place. I felt so dumb because I had NO idea that the Irish Coffee had whiskey in it. I took a BIG chug and HELLO! The Irish Coffee was great but at 8:00AM on a Saturday morning was a bit much. jeje! =] Great place to take family and friends.

I've had many Irish Coffees - never outside the U.S., but a lot. The Buena Vista makes the best Irish Coffees, by far. Even if you are not a whiskey drinker, you'll love their drinks. They make their own whiskey and you can buy a bottle to take with you. Good luck trying to make a coffee drink taste as good as theirs - it's impossible. Definitely give it a try if in the area.

the Buena Vista on a Saturday morning is the best breakfast in the city. And you should not skip the Irish Coffee to go along with your waffle or pancakes! A must if you're ever in the beautiful city of San Francisco!

Home of the Irish Coffee in America and they're still great. The food is a good with nice portions, but that's not why you come here. This is mor of a Pub than a cafe. There's a great atmosphere, with views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, the cable car turn around, and tourists scurrying between Fisherman's Warf and Ghiradelli Sqaure. More importantly, this is a friendly place where tourists can meet locals. With tight quarters, lots of people, and large round tables; former strangers will usually share tables and swap stories. We sat with people from Seattle on their way to Arizona, later a couple on a day trip from San Jose joined us. Not a place for a quiet drink, socializing is the order of the day here.

THE BEST PLACE IN TOWN. One can spend the whole day there and never get bored or hungery. View of the Bay and the bridge. Good people watching too.
