Tai Chi

Description

A popular debate among locals is where to find the best pot stickers in SF. Tai Chi Restaurant is a good candidate that attracts a cross section of pot sticker lovers from all over. These dumplings are a little spicier than most, in keeping with the fiery cuisine of the regional dishes served here. These are served with a generous pork-based filling and a wrapper that is neither too doughy or too crispy. For a main dish to follow, the noodle dishes, also spicy and tossed with meat, fish, or vegetables make a rib sticking meal. One word of warning, when a menu item is listed as spicy hot, believe it. If in doubt, the courteous wait staff can help you out with what may be too intense for your palate.

Have to agree with 2cool4u, the General Tso's chicken was terrific. All the food was very good to excellent. Wonderful Lemon Chicken also. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and ample quantity of food for our large party of 7. Highly recommended

My Husband's Favorite!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/08
My husband will go out of his way to go here. He absolutely loves the General Tso's Chicken dish they serve. The place looks a little like a hole in the wall, but the food is really good.

I like the food just dont trust them with your credit card. I ordered from tai chi chinese. I noticed they double charged our credit card in one day. I probably would not have noticed but it was charged twice for the same date . When I brought it to their attention they said it was only one charge..........long story short after going back and forth with the bank, etc, they refuse to credit the double charge. I won't be doing biz with them anymore, and if you do, watch for their crafty ways. There are better places at cheaper prices anyway.I just wanted to warn you.Try bamboo on Polk and California lightning fast delivery and much better food.

This place without a doubt is one of the best Chinese food in San Francisco. I order delivery all the time, they quote me about 35 mins delivery time--- they arrive usually within about 10 mins. Unbelievable!!! Piping hot food and everything arrives on time everytime, very courteous customer service. I have been a faithful customer for over 4 years now and plan to be as long as I don't sell my home and move from SF. I am delighted to say I am very very pleased with them. I wish other restuarants were just as reliable and pleasant. A gem and a great buy for the service and price! ENJOY you and your friends and family will love the food --funky place but who cares it gives it character! & *)

When in S.F. you must take time to go to Tai Chi and salute General Tso and his chicken at Tai Chi. The best General Tso's Chicken this side of the Pacific. Spring Rolls, String Beans with Shrimp and Pot stickers are all delicious. Price is reasonable.

I recently ate here and had their wonderful pot stickers, full of meat (a little doughy), spring rolls, delicious and not greasy, and the general tso chicken also delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were inexpensive.

delivery was awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
I ordered delivery b/c of the good reviews but after I ordered, I waited two hours, called two times and was told that the driver was on the way. He/she never showed up and by 10:30 pm (after the restaurant was closed) I told them to cancel the order. The manager said the food would arrive soon and would be free. I said ok and the food never showed up! I never had such a horrible experience where the food doesn't even show up! So I am never even trying to order from there again.

Can't wait to go back again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/07
I ate in Chinatown a few times and was very disappointed with the food and service. A friend on mine recommended Tai Chi just outside of Chinatown. Giving Chinese food in San Francisco one more chance I went there and loved it. The staff was friendly and very helpful in making suggestions and recommendations. The atmosphere is not romantic or exotic but it was clean. The next time I am in San Francisco or neighboring areas I am looking forward to going back to Tai Chi. ~KAT~
