warm decor, a bit pricey
i've always heard great things about crustacean, so we decided to give it a try. after climbing the stairs (didn't realize there was an elevator), we entered into the nicely decorated restaurant, where the host greeted us, and seated us promptly without a reservation. (the chairs are very plush and comfortable!) luckily we got there early, because a little later, it seemed like all the tables were full. we ordered the tamarind crab, the noodles they recommended with the crab, squid and green papaya salad, and a filet fish dish served over noodles (sorry can't remember the name). being a big crab eater, i thought the crab was just ok - sauce was simple and tasted like any other tamarind sauce that could be found at a vietnamese restaurant. i enjoyed the papaya salad - there was a good balance of fish sauce so that it wasn't overwhelming. the fish dish was good, but wasn't something i would go back to eat again. perhaps i just didn't pick the right dishes to blow me away. otherwise, the service was excellent.
