Harris' Steak House is the place for meat

First of all the service was horrible, in the beginning they gave us our seats bfore everybody was there, which wasn't bad, but the server, kept rushing us when the party was not all here. The server was snobbish all the way through. The food was very bland, a slab of meat with butter. the whole steak tasted like popcorn. I would not go there again even if it was free.

It's a super fancy modern steakhouse that makes you wait forever, even with a reservation. I saw a bunch of people eating at the bar, which is one option. You really can’t go wrong with any of their steaks. They all come sizzling in butter on a heated plate. I like to share the porterhouse with my boyfriend, or eat a rib eye by myself. The steaks are grilled very well, and the beef is of excellent quality. Unfortunately, the steaks don't come with any sides. You have to order a soup, salad, and/or potato separately. If you want something crispy, get the shoestring potatoes - they are my favorite. Despite the great food, I couldn't escape the feeling that I was being ripped off. I felt myself grimacing inside as I ordered the $10 shoestring potatoes. If you're looking for great beef, and want a better deal, I would recommend the House of Prime Rib, which is only a few blocks down the street.

I had dinner last night with a group of 4 others and was not impressed. First, it seemed that because we were not drinking alcohol it made the waiter want to turn the table over and rush us through dinner. Next, one of the my guest and I ordered the Filet cooked medium rare and it arrived medium well. They took it back to the kitchen and had another served 20 minutes later...after the others had almost finished dinner...and served it cold in the middle. I eat at a steak place once a week with clients and this was my third time to this Ruth Chris and maybe my last.

Good steaks but poor spotty service. Some of the waiters are really snobbish and terse.

My advice is to avoid this place like the plague. WAY, WAY, WAY over-priced for what you actually get. I mean, $6 for a baked potato (this was a couple of years ago, it's probably worse now)? I had the seared ahi tuna, which was WAY overcooked (I won't eat the gray cooked part). Don't even bother.

They have the best steak in the city ever! They rock!

Good consistent high-ish end steakhouse fare - in a traditional sense. The service has always been professional and the overall the experience pleasureable.

The food was great, one of the bests steaks I've tried! Great service and nice quiet environment for those who want to relax.

If you are looking for a good steak, just the way you like it, this is the place! Can get a little pricey since it's a la carte ordering style, but worth absolutely every penny. Great wines and martinis, too.
