This was a vacation of firsts for me--first time visiting San Francisco, first in California, first to the West Coast, and also first for a trip to Ruth's Christ Steakhouse. I was extremely impressed with the steak I ordered. It melts in your mouth, and could almost be cut without the aid of a knife. When it arrived, it was sizzling in butter on a hot plate, which I was warned about the temperature of by the very attentive waitress. A side of rice came in a small dish molded into a ball shape, and was tasty as well. Though rather expensive, particularly since the menu is all in a la carte form, it is a very satisfying experience, both for cuisine and service, when one wishes to celebrate and splurge occasionally.
Everyone told me I had to eat at Ruth's Chris Steak House in San Francisco. Coming originally from Chicago & going to a city known for seafood, I thought they all had lost their minds. But when I arrived at this wonderful establishment, my tastebuds were aroused! Need I say when I tasted this steak, I could not believe what a truly extraordinary dining experience this had become. Not only was the food terrific, the ambiance & waitstaff was A+. It doesn't get any better than this!
