I question if the reader below actually knows what Peruvian food is supposed to taste like. I think Mochica is your best option for authentic Peruvian food in SF. Frankly I'm sick and tired of all these other Peruvian restaurants that claim to be authentic and do not use the correct spices, nor do they offer an array of authentic Peruvian dishes, as Mochica does. I'm of Peruvian decent and my absolute favorite spots to eat great Peruvian food are: Mochica, Fresca's in West Portal and Noe Valley (skip the Fillmore location, it isn't that great), Limon and Macchu Pichu in San Mateo. I think the food at Mi Lindo Peru is less than superb and it definitely is not the best spot to eat Peruvian food, but it isn't terribly bad either. Let's just say I've only been there twice, while I frequent Mochica at least 3 times a month. I've gotten many friends hooked on Mochica and they keep going back for great food, original spices and great service!
