Max's on the Square, San Francisco

I tried to call for reservations and found out that this restaurant has been closed for some time.

I've been eating at Max's for a long time, and my visit today will be the last. The food and the service used to be a lot better. I had the $13 burger which was awful. It was like eating cardboard. For $13, I expect a big, at least 1/2 lb juicy burger. Carl's junior burgers are better than these. As for the service, the waitress changed her demeanor when we didn't order alcohol. It was hard to get her attention after that. So, I won't go back. You pay top dollar here, but you definitely don't get your money's worth anymore. In all fairness, one of our party ordered the meatloaf which was good.

Nice deli like food, big portions and really better than average! Lot's of healthy things as well. Go here stoned.
