unbelievable!!! ridiculously so! NOTHING we had was anything but spectacular! we actually went to sf on a weekend foodie trip, and ended up eating here 4 times in three days!!! dinner here both nights of our stay, a dinner on the third before we left for the airport, AND a breakfast!! we were THAT impressed!! only came in because friends were staying there and the menu items sounded interesting, but from the first bite to the last (and we polished off everything), we couldn't believe it. next two times were a mixture of trying new dishes (to see if anything was beneath our now higher expectations) and the previous night's favorites. we were raving about it all weekend, and shall now continue to do so while we plan our next trip to sf!! no future sf trip will ever be complete without dinner here!!! we've been spoiled forever!!
Three words: Not worth it! Indeed, not worth it at all! I am still pissed and disappointed from today's lunch after 11 hours.
The service was all right, considered only half the room was occupied (it wasn't a big room to start with).
The menu was a disaster! A restaurant menu with very limited selections, soup and salad, half of the main entrees were burgers, one entree of salmon filet and one entree of pasta. So much for lunch choices. Dine About Town menu was even more limited! For soup, I had potato leek soup and it tasted very potato but not a hint of leek. For entree, I had a kobe beef burger. The price on the menu was an incredible $16 bucks! The waiter asked how I would like the kobe steak to be and I said medium rare, it came out as a well-done... The dessert was a presentable cheesecake, but it was nothing smooth or soft.
For regular menu, we ordered a clam chowder soup and the salmon filet. The soup tasted creamy, but a bit funny somehow. The filet was OK but nothing worth a $22 price. The meat was not as soft and juicy as Pisces and the side dish was funny and incompatible. The waiter mistook the regular order as a Dine About Town order, so we had another cheesecake on the house. I guess that was the only good part about this meal.
My conclusion, this restaurant is not worth returning to, their menu is fundamentally inappropriate for any hotel diners.
