This is a good place for a quick lunch. The $5.95 lunch special is affordable and you get a lot...miso soup, salad, edamame, three small cucumber rolls, rice, and a choice of teri chicken, tempura, vegetable croquette, etc. The tea tastes just like hot water...no taste at all. They have many different types of sushi that are affordable and delicious as well.
My family and I decided to go have sushi for dinner, since we have eaten at the one located on Steven's creek blvd on numerous occasions the Sushi was fresh and service was wonderful, however upon arriving the 2 waiters were very kind and courtesy But when I asked to have a fresh roll made, I was declined as well as the having to swallow hard rolled up rice, luke warm tea and having to deal with a cook from nightmare on elm street. My family and I eat sushi at least once a week trying different restaurants and I must admit, I have never notated any comments, but I have to warn youeat at your own risk!
Ariake is a cookie cutter sushi joint that offers reasonably priced sushi in a strip mall atmosphere. Don't take business clients visiting from Tokyo here, but it's fine for satisfying that 11th hour urge for Maguro or Tobiko. Fish is relatively fresh, and the specialty rolls are pretty decent.
