New Delhi Restaurant, San Francisco

We stumbled into this lace on the recommendation of our doorman and were pleasantly surprised at what we found. The bar is a little tight, but it opens up into a beautiful dining room complete with marble pillars. The service was attentive, but not overbearing and and food.... the food was good. We started with a tandoori platter that was spiced just right and moved on to the curries and rice dishes. I had the chicken korma and loved every drop. Rich sauce, good spice balance and lots of chicken chunks. Eat it over the saffron rice and I'm a happy camper. The non bread was hot and crisp and tasted great with the chutney. The serving sizes were generous and the manager told us that he hasn't raised his prices since the nineties! How he pays the rent in downtown SF, I have no idea. If you're hungry in downtown, do stop by and enjoy a meal.

The food is fantastic.its the closest you can get to upscale Indian food you get in India. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Will be back!

Wonderful dinner. Attentive service without being intrusive. Food was excellent.All thought it one of the best dinning experiences ever.What always amazes me are the specialty cocktails are so unique, flavorful and smooth in the most elegant way--you cannot tast the alcohol

Had heard good things about the restaurant. Called at 12:15pm asking them if I need to get a reservation to come in for lunch. Was told.no walk in's fine.we reached at about 1:40pm driving an hour from east bay. We were told, sorry no more lunch since we are preparing for 3 parties for the evening! Very unprofessional not to let us know when we called ahead too! Waste of our time to drive all the way from East bay to eat in this restaurant.

Very limited selection of vegetarian food. Quality was bad. Onion kulcha was undercooked. Mango lassi was more like mango water. May be good for people who like non-veggie food. Ambience is good but not good enough to be a replacement for food ! Avoid.

My visit to this restaurant was fabolous.I was told this place was the best and they were right.Great martinis and Achari boti kabab.You must try it.

It is a little gem in downtown. food were great and drinks were absolutely fabolous along with the professional but friendly service.
