Grand Palace Restaurant
There are many Chinese restaurants from which to choose in Chinatown, but Grand Palace Restaurant is the only one where you can buy a kite on the way out. Dating from the 1940s, it serves Szechuan and Hong Kong-style food in a casual, friendly atmosphere to locals and tourists. Specials include whole crabs baked in a tangy chili sauce, and clay pot dishes done with seafood, beef, chicken or vegetables. Another plus is the spicy Chinese roast duck for which the establishment is locally famous.
Dim Sum and tea for breakfast and lunch are good. Don't and never go there for banquet. Small portion of dishes and charge you a lot. But, if you eat first before you go there for a wedding or birthday banquet, you should be full.
When staying near the SFO airport you have got to check out this Chinese restaurant. It's... grand! Nice, clean, great service and the food is top notch! Try the black peppered steak, Yang Chow fried rice, ginger and scallion steamed fish (market), and the steamed dumplings. Enjoy!
Very nice restaurant. The setting, atmosphere, and food are all very good. I loved the frog in clay pot dish. And the chow mein is one of the best I've tasted. Highly recommended. Watch out for the occasional wedding party--sometimes they may let you eat anyway if there is room, although it may get a bit noisy.
This is the worst experance we have, their hostes are the worst no manner. Look like little kid from Jr. High. and the dim sum service people are even the worst of all just dump the foods on the table with no manner. If they don't like working in their, don't stay their in the first place. Not much choice for a dim sum house of their size even during the weekend.
