A beautiful restaurant with bad food. Hot and Sour Soup had to be returned because it was salty like a bowl of soy sauce and vinegar. The manager recommended Egg Drop Soup instead, which was a bit better. Dan Dan Noodles were bland, oily, chewy, and very salty. It had ground chicken, noodles, shredded cucumbers, a few sprouts, and salty brown sauce but it seemed to be missing the garlic, scallions, and chili peppers. Shanghai Shrimp should have been a nice simple dish but it was also salty.
I want to give the place a better review. It's a beautiful with well presented food but I would not eat there again.
Hardwood paneling throughout the restaurant makes for an ambiance that is dark and loud.
I went to P.f Changs for the first time and the decor and atmosphere were great. I had a pear apple mojito that was great. But I ordered mongolian beef which was not SPICY not even a little hot no red peppers in it either!! It sucked! It was just beef in a sauce with green onions on top of it-for 15.99 I thought it would be better than that! It is expensive and over rated wannabe chinese food!! Even the egg rolls were nothing special. Owned by a white guy-it's a disgrace to Chinese Food everywhere!!
Location and interior are excellent. Our waiter was awesome. The food...hum, how should I say this. The chef needs to take a few lessons from Martin Yan. I ordered Mu Shu Pork and the pancakes were really dry and as thick as a tortilla, yuk. It was so hard to eat. Also ordered Beef a al Suchiun - um, the beef was tough and chewy, thought I was going to get lock jaw from chewing for so long. PF Chang's really needs to re-train their chef's if they want to be classified as an upscale chinese joint.
I go here only because I love PF Chang's. However, the quality of food here is not very good. There's been several times where I went there where the dish I ordered was either watery or tasted completely different. I am sympathetic and must give credit to the manager who took it upon himself to apologize (even though I did not complain to him) and also comped my meal. I have to admit that after this happening so often I would not have come back if it were not for the manager being so nice and concerned.
