Moss Beach Distillery
This historic restaurant dates back to the 1920's and has been a favorite ocean view restaurant for many people worldwide. Guests marvel at the view of the Pacific Ocean while enjoying the Distillery's excellent cuisine including fabulous prime steaks and fresh seafood favorites. Relax by the patio firepits and enjoy the ocean view while snuggling under a cozy, warm blanket. Bring your furry friend along because the heated patio is very dog friendly. The restaurant even provides a doggie menu that is specifically designed for dogs featuring mini burgers and grilled hot dogs. The resident Blue Lady ghost, as featured on Unsolved Mysteries, may even decide to enhance your Distillery Experience!
We were reccommeded by our hotel to dine at the Moss Beach Distillery. The place is in a great location with a magnificent view of the ocean. We saw that the menu was pricey, but expected the quality of the food to warrant the higher prices. We were wrong. My wife's $44.00 steak was far from prime beef, with little flavor and very fatty. The asparagus were very thick and very undercooked. The deserts were also very disappointing in quality.
Probably a good place for a drink and the nice view.
I don't know what all this ghost stuff is about, but it sounds corny. I took my wife and in-laws there for their anniversary and my mother-in-law got sick. The food is awful and my wife made me promise to never go back there again. There are so many other options in the area that are so much better. Don't waste your time. Drive the extra 7 miles and eat in Half Moon Bay, the HMB Brewery is great!
I have to agree with other reviewers. How can anyone go to a restaurant, where the chef lies? And the whole idea that the Ghost Hunters should have known about the lie is absurd. When you ask someone to their face what is going on with their establishment, you expect the person to provide you honest answers. Why lie?
If the Ghost Hunters knew in advance that the place was setup, their honest questions still deserved honest answers. We cannot continue to devalue honesty.
Our president told us that WMD existed in Iraq, so we invaded. We later discovered the truth about the WMDs. We saw the chef withhold information about their restaurant, and we discovered the truth. The Ghost Hunters have every right to be mad. We live in a country that is tired of lies.
And I cannot eat at a restaurant that isn't honest. If the menu says steak, I would like to know for sure that I am actually eating steak and not some stray dog.
i certainly hope you dirty liars are prepared to receive loads of hate mail and critisism. TAPS has an enormous base of supporters and you wasting their time for your personal financial gain is the worst thing you could've done. jason and grant let you jokers off pretty easy, but i'm less refined than them so....i hope you fuckers shot yourselves in the foot with this selfish stunt and your business goes down the toilet. you make me sick.
Never been there, but just saw an episode of T.A.P.S. (ghost hunters). And from watching that episode, I can see I would never go there, even for the view.
They claimed there were certain things happening around the restuarant, like laughing in the bathroom, moving lights, faces in the mirrors. It turned out to be all fixed, with speakers in the ceiling, a lit face hidden behind the mirrors in the women's bathroom. And the light were set up to a timed system that would move each light indivually.
What a joke, after watching and reading some of these reviews about the arrogance around the place and the pricey food, I wonder why anybody would really go there. And there are plenty of places along the coast with a nice view, so don't give me that.
I would rather go to Santa Cruz and eat on the wharf, then even think about that place. To all you suckers that still go there, the food is probably fake to.
