My wife and I have been there several times and have found the food very acceptable to our liking..The restaurant is conveniently located to the airport..My wife and I are also truck drivers and the Hunter has plenty of parking and room for bobtails.
We were there for a party. The food is good and everything (their steak, green salad, mashed potatoes) and the place is nice too. The only thing that I noticed is the waitress who's serving our table, I think discriminates. When it's almost time for a toast to the celebrants, the waitress started putting champagne glasses on the table. We were on the long table, and at our table she gave clean champagne glasses to 5 guests, then she took the unused wine glasses from them and gave them to us!! (Other people were Caucasians and we're Asians). She did not bother to get champagne glasses for us from the kitchen, she just got them from the people who were in the same table with us. I felt that it's not right, but we did not say a thing because we did not want to embarass the hosts.
We had a party of 10 (9 adults and a college graduate). The food arrived at the table all together; eight of us were happy. At the far end of the table, I didn't find out what happened, but the gal across from me had ordered her ribeye medium rare, and it arrived well done. Not even close. She was hesitant to send it back until she saw the other plate going back. They didn't take too long. One thing though; I ran into the same problem with the bottomless soda. The waitress, who did a good job otherwise, never came back to refil the soda. My ribeye was perfect: medium, with a little-finger-thick strip of pink throughout. I also asked them to make it like the Steak Neil (usually a NY strip), and it was delicious. May return tonight (a couple of friend will be near the airport); we'll see how they do.
From the soda with no syrup to the paper wrapper in the chili to the bland seafood this was an overall terrible experience. Sodas were never refilled, just the water even though the menu says bottomless sodas. Half way through the chili I bit into a paper wrapper of some kind, the manager said he would not charge me for it and did anyhow. Garlic butter scampi was flavorless and asked for parmisan cheese twice before getting it. The best thing about this place is the warm bread at the beginning, down hill from there.
I love a great Prime Rib and Hungry Hunter is a great choice! Their claim to fame is the made at your table by your waiter salad with a wide choice of toppings. A must do. But, come on, that's rabbit food, let's talk Prime Rib. A great slab of meat with fine sides. Throw in a California Merlot and you have a great dinner! I shall return!
