Gunter's Restaurant, South San Francisco

Ever been to a place where it just feels comfy being there? That's how Gunter's is. In fact, you just sit wherever you want to once you come in.

This restaurant has been around for, I think, 40-50 years. The service is phenomonal and the portions are very generous. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at any time of the day. They have tons of specials written on their whiteboards for everyone to see. We were even able to order something that wasn't even on the menu... basically asked if we could get chili cheese fries knowing they serve, chili and fries... ok maybe not a big stretch but the fact they would cater to a request is a good sign of great service.

Their pies also taste very homemade, if that makes any sense.

All in all, this place is a great value.
