Mistral, Redwood City

The only reason I didn t give Mistral 5 stars is because my food was tasteless and grey. My family of 9 went to Mother s Day Brunch this past weekend and the restaurant is beautiful along with the location by the water being so nice to look at during brunch. We had a great table that overlooked the water and the service was a bit slow but understandable due to Mother s Day. I ordered the Mediterranean Scramble and when it came to our table I had to look twice and taste it to make sure it was eggs since it was a grayish color and it had not flavor. I took two bites and I was done luckily I filled up on appetizers and bread. I asked the waitress to box it up and told her that it had no flavor and showed her the color, she just shook her head and reached for my plate. I was very disappointed that she didn t even care about what a customer had to say about the food. I m not to sure if I ll go back to this restaurant again. The rest of my family enjoyed their selections and the best tasting at the table was the Skirt Steak… Darn I should have ordered that!

Great location and good food. That's all I'll say about that.

Great Restaurant with a terrific bar.

I give the place 4 stars, but everything is relative. Mistral is a place you book to satisfy out-of-town clients if you're a mid-peninsula company (e.g., Oracle) cutting a deal. Everyone thought the food was fab. The enclosed patio was fine; slightly noisy. I had the crab/arti ravioli--good. For the prices, I'd much sooner head up to the City if it was my dime though.

Reasonable in terms of quality, not price however--it's a little upscale, so a little pricy. The great part is the setting right on the water with a nice patio. Come for happy hour after work on Friday afternoons, but beware it can get packed if the weather is nice. If you come for lunch, make sure to call ahead for a reservation.

Had dinner at Mistral with a bunch of co-workers last night. The food was very good. I love the tiramisu parfait. It's so tasty and the coffee taste lingered in my mouth for a long time. I wish I ordered one more.

The service can be a bit slow, and it is a bit pricey, but the food more than makes up for the shortcomings. If you haven't had the teriyaki skirt steak here, you have no idea. They also make a seriously good spring roll with crab and shrimp, and I don't even generally like crab or shrimp.
