Woodside Delicatessen, Redwood City

We were driving around the area this past weekend, and I had a big, fat italian sub on my mind, but no clue where to find a solid east coast deli sporting salamis and other italian meats. Sitting at a light with a hungry 1 year old, growling stomach and wife growing impatient, we spotted the deli, a bit of a hole in the wall at that. We walked in to a deli sandwich counter with a line about fifteen deep. The fifteen minute wait for my Philly Hoagie ($7.50) special was well worth it. If my heart can take it, these folks will be seeing more of us!

Old fashioned deli with lots of eclectic ethnic groceries. Great sandwich counter, try their Godfather sandwich with tons of prosciutto. Woodside Deli's been there doing the exact same thing forever it seems.

They make a Hogie to die for. Try it with Asiago cheese.

I love the staff and the food! The folks are all so kind and professional and the food always fresh and delicious. I have also used them for delivery and they always are on time! Everyone in my office loves food from here when I order in. My kids love it on the weekends and wnt more and comment how good it is!

All hail the Godfather! For those who have never been to this little piece of heaven, Woodside Deli offers a sandwich called the Godfather, which is an Italian sub, LOADED with fine Italian meats and cheeses, including more Prosciutto than you could ever imagine. They dress the bread with an tangy vinegar, olive oil and parsley flake for a taste that’s out of this world. There is also a large menu of sandwiches that they offer, but the Godfather is the best thing on the menu. Do yourself a favor and try one if you ever get the chance. This is a full service deli, complete with a large selection of imported meats & cheeses, olives and deli salads. There are also loads of imported cookies, crackers, wines and other assorted goodies. If you try one delicatessen in the Bay Area, this is the one.
