Very good buffet with good variety and vegetarian options. I also liked their dessert and mango lassi.

I liked this place until tonight ,,, we were a party of six and the gratitute was already charged %18 and they charged us extra tip on our card with out letting us know.... and the service was not good at all.... i will not go there again.....this is the Mountain View Location....

I recently visited the Santana Row location. Excellent food and great variety, upscale feel. Highly recommended. Food is worth every penny. :)

I really had very bad experience at this restaurant.The food was horrible, no flavor in the dishes.Three veg dishes were chana dal, cabbage with chana dal (lentil) and ghiya with chana dal.When we pay high price we expect tasty food and some good different kind of dishes not for chana dal. I will not go back again in that restaurant.Management should take action against that otherwise after all the negative reviews the reputation of amber will go down.

I used to like this place, until tonight - the second time in the last few weeks I've found hair in their food (apparently the saffron rice, although possibly it was the tandoori chicken) - long dark hairs, apparently human. The first time I figured, well, they made one mistake, so I complained to the manager; but I went back. But twice? Disgusting, I'll never go back.

Worst Indian resturant in the bay area. Had to wait more than 45 minutes to be seated. Food very very bad. I don't think cooks or chefs doesn't know the indian food taste and I don't understand why the skyrocket prices they are charging. It is very bad to over charge like that for indian food and the quantity of the food is not enough for even a one person. Trust me don't ever ever try this place. you will think you did a mistake.

Overall a bad experience ...: Went there for dinner on a Sunday night. Let's start from service, one of the worst service I have ever had and importantly they doesn't care for reservation. No clear understanding of reservation and people waiting for seating...bad ....very bad business strategy. The food was tasteless. Would never even think of recommending for this restaurant or even going there again?

This place is over priced for indian food. Most customers are native americans and I think the owner is taking advantage if that. I went to this restaurant with my indian boyfriend and he was the ONLY indian customer. There are many other restaurants around that are far better priced and the food tastes much better.

Stick to the lunch buffett and that will resolve any service issues you have. I never liked Indian food until my Indian boss brought me here in 1999. Mmm mmm good! And it remains a favorite. The Santana Row is larger and has a different menu - a little more contemporary - but they are both great choices if you are not acquainted with Indian food this is the place to be introduced.
