This is the place to go with hungry teens or tweens. The Aka Fuji special dinner, which they say will feed two, is actually enough for three, or four if supplemented with a roll or two. For $29.95 this feast incudes beef and chicken sates, California rolls, vegetable and shrimp tempura, tuna sashimi AND is preceeded by soup and salad. A great place to roll into (reservations not needed) on a Friday evening after a long week. (No Wine...but beet and Sake)
This traditional japaneses restaurant is one of my favorite , especailly food is very good, beef is so juicy and temprua is always fresh not greasy. crispy. Porkatsu( tonkatsu) is the best., you should try one. they have few rolls but, very good, compared to other sushi places, I and my children love to go there.
Waitress are kind and sweet usallly. I would definetly go there again~~~
This charming Japanese stop is not for sushi-eaters. Akafuji excels in delivering simple, home-cooked style Japanese food that's not just delicious but cooked from the heart by owner/chef, Mizuno-san. His dishes are no-fuss, but prepared with good ingredients and with high quality of skill. His tempura is second to none, crisp, light, and fried to perfection always. The special Akafuji boat for two persons is enough to feed 3 adults and is filled with all the goodies he prepares including salmon, chicken, and beef teriyaki, tempura, california roll, etc. One of my all-time favorites is the Wafu steak, grilled ribeye from Harris Ranch supplied by Pape's Meats next door. The best deal is the combination dinner, a choice of two entrees, with miso soup and salad. Plus Mizuno-san usually throws in a slice of fruit at the end of the meal. And being a wine lover, I always bring a bottle of wine which the restaurant welcomes and corkage is free. This restaurant is heaven-sent!
It has been one our family's favorite destination for Japanese comfort food....not fancy but always good. We do miss the kind and friendly Japanese waitress who made us feel so welcome. The service has definitely been less warm since her absence; however, the food is still a value.
Love it love it love it!!!. Always go there for lunch if I crave for rice meal. My favorite is the bento box with beef teriyaki and tempura. The beef is rib eye with a good portion. The tempura can satisfy the crave of deep fried food because is so crispy. The salad dressing is perfect. Overall, great place for lunch.
