Little Lucca Sandwich Shop, South San Francisco

If anyone ever complained about the long lines;well despite it's size,it's not the building that everyone comes to see! This shop's been around since I was in high school.*and that was a time ago!* Granted,back then,you may have gotten a higher stack of meat,but despite the times,Little Lucca's stayed true to it's roots.One of two of my most fav's in & around my home town!

The best deli sandwhich I have ever had in my WHOLE life....its worth the wait and it is a wait.....its small but you'll wait and wait again to get this sandwhich.

Alot of people do complain that the deli isn't the same. My family were the previous owners of this landmark buisness. We owned the buisness for 22yrs and sadly had to sell it around 8yrs ago. Im sorry if we let down some of our loyal customers, but maybe, just maybe, we will open up another one. How does Mama Lucca's sound?

Great sandwiches...how can you tell? Try getting there anytime after 10:30am on a Saturday or Sunday - the place is absolutely jam packed!! That's even when they have four people at a time behind the counter making sandwiches. All the fixin's you need/request, staff is nice & helpful, and they move things along as quickly as possible, asking whether you're ordering one or more sandwiches so they can be best prepared. I live 35 miles south, and make the trip as often as I can on the weekends - the food is that good!! My favorite: the chicken parmigiana sandwich on sourdough...hmm hmm good!

Still an old time favorite. Consistent for over twenty years and never disappointing.

I have been going to this deli for almost 20 years now, and still very happy satisfied customer. Their sandwiches are generous and large serving, their prices our low, only negative is the sometimes a line out the door on busy lunchtime weekdays. But the wait is well worth it, because the food is excellent! I would truly recommend this deli to anyone and everybody who wants a good sandwich. My favorite on the menu is the roasted turkey with cranberry sandwich served warm. MMMMMM!!!! Yummy!!!

i've been going there for about 6 years the place is still Great. Right Now i think its the best sandwich shop around. The best deal for your money with more then generous ingredients. I can't imagine anyone not liking that place after one bit of a sandwich or maybe two because the sandwich is big. Never tried? it is a good place to try...a sandwich SoSco!

This place brings back memories when my friends and I sneaked out of South City High during lunch period to split a sandwich. Ha, $5 for a sandwich is a lot of money for a high school kid in the early 90's. Now that my friends and I are A LOT older, we still go here after all these years. Only now, we treat each other sandwiches by picking up the bill. Great times, great memories and great sandwiches. Go South City!

Since moving to the East Bay, after living in SSF, I have missed my Little Lucca sandwiches. The Garlic spread and the chutney (i think that is it) is fantastic on a dutch crunch!!. My personal favorite in the entire bay area. Now Darby Dan's is good as well but LLS is a step above. This is the last of the good family run sandwich shops in the bay area.

How about the Original Togos on San Jose State Campus back in the mid to late 60's. Now that was the best!!!
