I just went to this place today and i must say, they have some of THE best crabrangoo around. I also highly recommend the mongolian beef and orange chicken. They also do free delivery, which is a major plus, considering the other restaurants in the area don't do delivery.
I used to work at this restaurant and I have a special place in my heart for this place. To start off on the vast majority of the days I was the only one serving 10 tables by myself. Now this may not sound too bad but try when all of those tables are full (who knows why), you're getting phone calls from two different phone lines (can only answer one), and you're adding the finishing touches to choice dishes that need it. Talk about multitasking. I had lunch every time I worked there and I'll say that it never fails when I start eating a customer comes in. So I have to drop what I'm eating and tend to that customer, where on most occasions on top of that more start coming in at a steady pace. By the time I have a breather to take another bite my food is cold, yuck. Lets talk about the food now shall we? Although there are a variety of choices the food really isn't all to great. I took my wife to eat there once I had the brains to quit (why...?) and she ended up pretty upset. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, black bean sauce noodle, and mixed chow mein noodles. I don't know if sweet and sour doesn't go well with chicken, but to my understanding I though chicken tasted good with anything as long as you made it well. Obviously this sweet and sour chicken wasn't made right at all, it just tasted like cubes of doughy bland chickens. Black bean sauce noodle wasn't too horrible but I've definitely had better. The mixed chow mein noodles didn't even use the right kind of noodles and tasted like meats, MSG, and grease. To top it all of they also gave us egg rolls that we didn't order for service. Those egg rolls were 50% grease and 50% crap. My wife couldn't even touch them. I on the other hand, not wanting to waste food, tried my very best to stuff down these atrocities (using tons of napkins to squeeze out the grease first of course), but in the end I had to give up. If you're looking for a job and they offer you one from here, don't take it. In spite of the tough economic time that we're living in right now, it is not worth the work of 3 people by yourself. You can find other jobs that will offer you good pay while keeping your dignity. If you want Chinese food, take a walk down the street, I guarantee you that you'll find one better than Golden China. Save yourself some money and toilet paper.
I'm a huge fan of potstickers, and this place definatly has excellent ones! I always get my potstickers from here, it's close to where I live and the seafood chowmein I got was also really really good.
if you are looking for chinese food, look elsewhere! My friend and i were looking for takeout for a rainy day movie night and not only was the lady that took my order extremely rude, but it took forever for the food to get to my house, and i only live a few blocks away. The orange chicken was watery, and the sweet and sour chicken look liked period blood. The best part of the meal was the rice. I highly suggest that you DO NOT eat here, i think i have violent diarrhea. To top it off, they didn't give us fortune cookies!
I love going to Golden China. It's it our family tradition to go there every week. The hostess is always very nice and lovely. The food is fresh, delicious, and just great. Every time we go, we have a wonderful time and knowing that the food is made with our specific needs and wants doesn't hurt especially when you have a big family. They have one of the best sizzling plates, sweet and sour, and overall Chinese food in the area that doesn't hurt the wallet. I recommend this small but quaint restaurant! There's a reason why this place has been open for over 30 years!
I am giving this place 2 stars because it was edible and didn't make me sick. We all shared sweet & sour pork and shrimp, veg chow mein, kung pao chicken and fried rice with egg. The sweet and sour looked ridiculous. A gooey gelatinous red mess. It had a boring taste along with the rest of the food. The hostess/waitress was not accommodating. The atmosphere was cheesy and awkward. Will not return.
This restaurant is gross, my Hubby took me here for the first time because his friend use to work there. I don't understand why Korean people are making Chinese food & the cooks are Mexicans. The food was no where good at all! My dog & rabbit probaby wouldn't eat it! I had the Black Bean Sauce Noodles & I recommend to whoever likes that entree to go to Lee's Garden in Marina across from Wells Fargo Bank & located by Grocery Outlets, I think it's own by Koreans too but Chinese food there taste a lot better. At Golden China, the sweet & sour chicken literally taste like crap, I guess you can throw noodles in grease & crap & call it Chow mein & the I'm sure we did not ordered any veggie eggrolls but all that was in it was a lot of cabbages, air, & a massive load of Grease! I like eggrolls but those were horrible, I didn't even eat half. Hubby ate the most because he didn't wanna waste food but of course we would sqeeze the grease out of the eggrolls with lots of napkins but eventually my Hubby gave up because it was too gross. The owners to me were unfriendly & we will NEVER go there again even if they gave it to us for free. I know someone who ate there & had a massive case of the runs really bad, that's gross & kinda funny but I felt sad for him at the same time. So people, there are plenty of Chinese food restaurants to eat at so protect your stomachs & tastebuds & don't go to Golden China!
