Pilgrim Kitchen, Belmont

This place is THE best. Everything is delicious--pies, cookies, donuts, breakfast pastries. And other than their boldly posted breaks for vacay, they're always open. I've heard the place is for sale (the owner is no spring chick) and I can't imagine anyone doing as nice a job. It's just a pleasure having a small, local, neighborhood shop where quality and charm are so very reliable.

Got two boysenberry pies today. One is for Turkey Day...the other I shared at lunch with a couple of friends just a few hours ago. It was still warm from the oven, so we topped it with vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious! The crust was flaky and the berries were soft and sweet. They've been making pies for decades and know how to do it right. The women at the counter were very friendly, even with a steady stream of customers coming in for last minute pies. Enjoy!

Everything I've ordered from Pilgrim Kitchen has been wonderful, particularly the pies. And going into the place is like stepping into a time machine. If you are going to get holiday pies, order early and show up early. They go soon.

great everything but, if your in a hurry in the am dont go. The guy behind the counter is as slow as molasses, he was helping a lady get donuts (regular donuts, nothing fancy) and as he slowly shuffled accros the floor it too almost 20 minutes. They need another person behind the counter!!!

Absolutely wonderful pies. Love the sour cream pies (fruit filling on bottom, layered w/ sour cream filling, then lovely meringue on top).. Also had a peach pie last week and it was delicious (fruit was not mushy and wasn't overly sweet). Not a fancy shmancy pie, but wonderfully delicious and not heavy stick-in-your-gut kind of pies. Pastries are also wonderful.

This is a hidden gem. I picked up a boysenberry pie for Mother's Day last night. The pie was great, my mom loved it! The lady behind the counter was very nice. Go buy some pies from her!
