There's nothing worst than a high school kid who can't remember how to make a sandwich leaving out lorenzo's signature garlic sauce after standing in line for 25 min. This was the third time that I had a problem with some kid forgetting something.This is also the first time I've had a sandwich without garlic sauce and let me tell you it was nothing special.What a disappointment.
Somehow it has been 12 years since I lived in the apartments at 906 Villa. As fate would have it, that would place me just 50 feet away from the greatest sandwich shop on planet earth.
I now live 2500 miles away from Lorenzo's, but I get a sandwich at Lorenzo's religiously every time I am in the Bay Area. The ham/swiss on Dutch is so damn good. There is something about the interaction between that bread and that garlic sauce that is unbelievably tasty.
I'd recommend no mayo/mustard as that garlic is all you need....
Dave's been serving up great sandwiches since I've been a kid. Great food, great people work there. If I'm looking for lunch in Belmont, its the first place I'll look to every time. Unfortunately, closed on Sundays (football!!) and Mondays. But I don't hold it against them.
