While typically Passion fish’s delicious cuisine leaves me feeling elated and satisfied, last nights experience was extremely forgettable and disappointing… after hearing that the special along with a few appetizers and other nights entrée’s had run out .. we were left to order with few choices, both of which we had, had before .. I was unpleasantly surprised to find that my “sides” were actually a “Denny’s” style breakfast fried potato bites (extremely disappointed) there a million things to do to a potatoes so as not to insult the costumer.. the couscous side dish was inedible due to overload of herbs especially cilantro. The Tilapia was amazing (thank god) and the pesto sauce was perfect. My partners dish the sturgeon, was also cooked perfectly, however the fish was overpowered by a spicy curry sauce, the fish lost the battle against the spicy warlords of India. The snap peas which were meant to be a “side” on this sturgeon spicy plate were no more than bloated, un flavored, un salted garnish’s, not meant for human consumption.. I often say to my partner is situations like this... I wish I were Gordon Ramsey... just for tonight. Ps. we will of course be back to this restaurant because of the wonderful other experiences, where the food lingers into my dreams at night

For a Taste Treat, Recommended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/07
While on the Wharf on, 07/20 or 21/2007, I happened to overhear a women exclaiming with compliments the food & service at the Passionfish in Pacific Grove was excellent & there group would return again that evening. Our first visit on one of these evenings wasn't at all disappointing. My the three Oyster appitzer w/carrot-ginger vineigrette was delicious, but a bit pricey. I could have had a dozen. My spouse had a sea bass in a special red sauce was prepared as she anticipated, nice & hot.(not Spicey hot) My selection of fresh Mahi with black pepper-rum sauce, cucumber salad & green onion rice was GREAT!!! All the food & flavors complimented each other. Although off the beaten path of the Wharf, this struck me to be a locals restaurant & visitors as well. Our menu selections were SUPERB & menu changes daily... Once Again...Compliments to the Chef & our waitress.

honeymoon bliss
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
My wife and I honeymooned for two weeks, traveling the California Coast, we stayed at the Green Gables in, who made reservations for us at Passionfish. When we arrived, the staff knew we were the honeymooners, along with the entire restaurant, they made us feel very welcome, and made the dinner extra special and romantic, one of the best retsurants in the world. Awesome wine list.

I travel a lot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/06
Just to give some perspective on where I come from... I travel every week of the year. What happens when I come home? My wife wants to go out to eat! I suppose this makes me some kind of involuntary restaurant connoisseur. I think this restaurant's great! I really can't find much to fault about this place. The food and the wine list are all very fairly priced for what you get, and it tastes great! My wife doesn't like fish (but she likes shrimp, crab and lobster). She had no problem finding something she loves. It was my birthday, and they went out of their way to make it a special event. Next time I am in the area, I am definitely coming back!
