Great German food without the German attitude! I am half German and have spent many years in Germany, the Bavarian region to be specific, so needless to say I know German food. That being said, this is by far the best Bavarian German food I have ever had in the United States. Besides the food being amazing the service was fantastic! Other German restaurants I have been to the staff has not always been the most friendly. However, the Stammtsich staff were so kind. We were new to town and didn't know you needed a reservation but they sat us anyways. They were very social and always checked to see how we were doing. The chef even came out to see how we liked the food. I have to say that this has been one of the best dining experiences I have had!

We used to dine there 10 years ago when we lived in Seaside, and my husband and I still talk about it. The staff was friendly, the place was charming, and the food was ausgezeichnet! Best German food I've had in the States!

Sehr gut! My husband's family, who lived in Germany for many years, have been coming to this little gem for nearly 20 years. It is the most friendly, authentic German resturant we have been to, and we have been to many. We come from the SF bay area to Monterey several times a year and always have a dinner at Stammtisch. The best German food in California!

OMG!!! My husband and I have been coming here for 12 years from Minden Nevada. We plan our vacations in Monterey just so that we can go to Stammtisch. By far the best German food I have ever had. We even had our wedding dinner there. Highly recommended. Claudia's fried tater's are the best and her soup's are to die for.

Went to Germany last October and never thought I would find such great Spatzel. Our friends thought they were back in Germany with the authentic food. Traditional food with excellent flavor.

The best German food in Monterey. The owner is very friendly and efficient. He calls me to let me know when they are cooking my favorite Hungarian Gollash and Ham hocks. Prices are reasonable and worth it. You will feel like you took a vacation to Bavaria.

Good, authentic food. Their creamed vegetable soup is delicious, the atmosphere warm and the meal leisurely. The prices are sky high so be prepared to pay a small fortune for the authentic experience.

Very comfortable atmosphere, we had a great time and laughed a lot. The staff is extremely helpful and make you feel right at home. The food is excellent, bring your appetite.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in the monterey area. I have had nothing but amazing dishes and I've had about all of them. Try the Wursteller if you are looking for plenty of sausage and sauerkraut and you're a newbie. Portions great. Service great. Kid friendly. If you want to pay 20 dollars for some frozen fish go down to the Wharf. If you want the best plate of food in town go here.
