Joe Rombi's La Mia Cucina
Stroll along 17th street, between Lighthouse and Laurel and you will find one of the Peninsula's hottest restaurants, Joe Rombi's La Mia Cucina. This little jewel, with its fresh ambiance and tantalizing menu, is popular with everyone. When you ask about the colorful European advertising posters that enliven the walls, you're told that they are "originals, not reproductions." That phrase is accurate in describing Joe Rombi's itself. From the lean, comfortable linen white decor, accented beautifully by those turn-of-the-century posters, to the hand-crafted entrees and desserts, everything about Joe Rombi's says fresh, new and original. Joe's specialty, his ravioli dishes, are a renowned local favorite, and for good reason. They are rolled, filled and cut by hand, with all the care that only a lifetime of creative food combining can bring. In addition to pasta, Joe's known for his fresh fish and meat specials. The desserts are made in-house, and the service is personal and inviting.
GREAT, OUTSTANDING, food, service and wonderful owner.
Richard our waiter was outstanding and his asst. Gabrial was too. It was our first time, but it won't be our last!!! We love Pacific Grove and will always make LA Mia Cucina a stop.
Intimate and delicious. We enjoyed several seafood specials all served with soup and salad included. The calamari aptitizer is one of the best I have ever had. It was lightly breaded and grilled, not deep fried, so good. The wine list is complete with moderate prices. Be sure to try the fresh strawberry shortckae for desert.
Don't order the caesar salad, the parmisan cheese was in slices, and the anchovies were whole, and the dressing had too much lemon juice. The food was not bad, cooked with skill but not with zest. I will not go back and I can't say that it was a good meal just not bad.
Authentic and delicious Italian food! Owners are lovely people. We went with a large group and the service was flawless. We go back year after year during the concourse d'elegance and have never had a bad meal.
This is a rare find in our day. Imagine, a small exciting restaurant with exceptional food and service. The menu and wine list are moderatley priced which makes this a good value.
Try the fresh Halibut with lemon, butter, caper sauce or the tender Veal Marsala.
They are full on weekends so call first.

delicacies such as Portobello Mushroom Ravioli or Quattro Tagioni Pizza. There are quite a few meat choices (such as ...
