I crave this place.
By Christine and Jim, 8/15/05
You have to try the Smoked Gouda and Turkey Sandwich. It is to DIE for! Also the Frosted Mocha is great.

Great food, fun place to hang out
By Erika, 7/21/05
Great food. Menu has limited options, but many daily specials available. Frosty mocha's are a must have! Great ambiance and fun place to hang out. Great to go have a coffee/dessert and sit outside with friends.

Spend an hour on the patio
By Paul Levine, 7/15/05
Nice place to spend some time on the outdoor patio. I've generally just had a latte there, havent ventured much into the food menu. For me the biggest appeal has been the outdoor seating. Spent 2 hours playing hold-em with some friends, and staff seemed cool with it. Big points for that.

This place quickly becomes a ritual
By Lynn, 6/13/05
I have been going to Cafe Borrone for years, even though I moved from Menlo Park ages ago. I love the casual atmosphere and freshly prepared simple food (open faced sandwiches, lasagne, soup, salads). You can enjoy these with a glass of wine at an outdoor table amidst kids and dogs (in a good way). I love the fact that Cafe Borrone is adjacent to Kepler's Bookstore, one of my favorite non-chain bookstores. A more perfect symbiotic relationship couldn't exist. :)

Outdoor patio rocks
By kavita_mehta, 6/7/05
Finally went to this Menlo Park institution and thought it was great. We sat outside and enjoyed a warm, sunny afternoon. I'll certainly bring my toddler here - huge patio gives her room to safely run around.

Cafe Borrone
By Katie, 5/7/05
I drive all the way from Los Gatos to Menlo Park just for a sandwich at Barrone's. My friends and I love to sit outside. They switch their menu once a week so they almost always have one of my two favorite sandwiches - The Club, and The Smoked Gouda - which I always order on baguette because I am not a fan of focaccia. The frosted mocha is soooo good, made with coffee ice cream and with few espresso beans thrown in. The other food served looks delicious as well, but my sandwiches are such a treat (it's hard for me to get up there a lot) I can never bring myself to order anything else!

By Travis Bowie, 4/14/05
If you like coffee and dessert, Borrone's is a place that you must try. Cafe Barrone is a small cafe in Menlo Park, near the BBC, that serves fine coffee drinks and great cakes/pies. The cafe is adjacent to Kepler's bookstore, making it a convenient place to pick up a sunday paper a cup of joe.

Go on a Sunny Day
By ted burns, 3/30/05
If there is a sunny day you HAVE to hit cafe barone. It has the best patio in the peninsula. Watch students, vc's and dog lovers mingle and fight for seats. The prices are a little steep but the atmosphere is perfect.

great place to have breakfast
By Pasha, 9/19/04
the breakfast menu is great although i wish they changed the items on the menu more often for the sake of people who visit regularly.

the best parts about cafe borrone are the people who work there (very friendly) and the ever present crowd of people eating and drinking there.

Outdoor patio is great
By Jeralyn, 8/9/04
The food is tastey, although it can be a bit overpriced. It's a great place to sit outside and enjoy food, coffee, and a good book or magazine - especially in the summer. They close at 5pm on Sundays, though, which is a real bummer.
