Cafe Borrone Incorporated
In the grand traditions of the relaxed outdoor Italian piazza and the art inspired Parisian coffee house, family owned and operated Cafe Borrone serves up superb coffee, delectable food, and an unbeatable atmosphere. Located between San Jose and San Francisco, less than a mile from Stanford University and smack in the heart of Silicon Valley, Cafe Borrone is the place to meet and be if you are in or near Menlo Park. Cafe Borrone has been in operation, first in Redwood City, and now in Menlo Park, since 1971. The Cafe has become the gem of Menlo Park, shining from sun up to past sun down, always with family friendly service and extreme dedication to providing the freshest most natural food in the most delicious ways.
This is the place to meet friends, sip a latte and people watch in Menlo Park. Start next door at the independent bookstore Kepler's. Then take your purchase to Cafe Barrone to read at your table under a green umbrella.
This is the place to meet friends, sip a latte and people watch in Menlo Park. Start next store at the independent bookstore, Keplers, and then take your purchase to Cafe Borrone to read at your table under a green umbrella. Weekend crowds pack the outdoor patio most of the year so come early or stop by in the afternoon when Stanford students, moms with children and dog walkers fill the tables. The food is a bit expensive but fresh and tastey. Lean back to overhear VCs at the next table discuss their next big deal or listen to community volunteers plan their next gala event. If Menlo Park had an unofficial city square, the patio area outside Borrones would be it!
If it's a nice weekend and you want a good table for breakfast, best to get there before 9:30a or so. Good reason for the crowds - this place has great food and good vibe and is actually pretty reasonably priced. Good for kids too.
I ordered the Tuscan veggie sandwich which turned out to be tasty. I also ordered a smoothie which was alright. The place was absolutely busy on a Saturday afternoon with zero privacy. The sandwiches and plates are super pricey ($8- $12)
Great place to go on a warm summer day to eat a sandwich or breakfast outside. We oftentimes take our little kids and our dog so we can all enjoy the day and then head over next door to Keplers book store to buy a book to take home. THeir coffee portions are generous and my favorite meal at Cafe Borrone is breakfast.
