Iberia Restaurant

Description

In the Spring of 2001 Iberia opened The Rock of Gibraltar Comestibles, a retail food store offering all of Iberiasac2s favorite dishes acoeto goac, as well as the largest resource for imported Spanish food products in Northern California. The Rock also has cooking programs that are hands-on and allows students free run of Iberiaac2s kitchens. Conveniently, The Rock is located just next door to Iberia.

Great location, beautiful inside, but the food was so-so and service was slow. Every page of the menu had price does not reflect 19% tip and 8-1/4% tax..... definitely a turn off. My lunch was a small bowl of white beans and sausage. It had two big 1 squares of bacon fat with a tiny strip of bacon on each end . When I tracked down the waiter, he said that this is what Spanish cooking is supposed to be, and if I didn t like the fat blobs, eat around them. Did get the meal subtracted from the bill because it was unacceptable. Other people in the group had better luck with their food however, and the bread was good.

Went there for the first time in April for my birthday dinner, atmosphere was good, ordered appitizer it was good, had a glass of white wine, good, a cup of coffee for hubby, really bad, for a spanish resturant the coffee MUST BE STRONG AND FRESH ALWAYS! Main dish... Paella, dissappointed with the size of the seafood added, tiny small scallops, no crab, no lobster, no variety of meats, we only had chunks of chicken, but I must add the taste of the rice was good. Got the bill and was shocked! it was NOT ITEMIZED totaled $100+ didn't want to argue about the #'s..... it was my birthday dinner and we didn't even look at the desert menu, it would have probably added another $50...Breakdown.....1 order of Paella, 1 glass of wine, 1 coffee,1 $5.00 appitizer......$100+ Will not be returning.

Avod! Mediocre and over priced. The owner, I think he was the owner, was arrogant and obnoxious when we complained about our meal.

We seen this resturant on eye on the bay jan 2010. We reserched the resturant by name on the web. The prices and location seemed acceptable, so today 1-16-10 we drove accross the dumbarton bridge to enjoy Menlo Park and lunch. Menlo Park is wonderfull as always, but to our dissapointment the meal at Iberia was very much a bad idea. First the prices from web site to accual on average was $5.00 more also not stated on the web is a mandatory 19% tip added to every bill. We were only two people and yes they added 19% to our bill as well it is listed as service charge.. now I tip every single meal but I have trouble with an auto add when its only a couple.. we had water to drink & only two dishes and our bill was $53.00 with the added $8.00 attached. Now I would like to spend some time re: the dish, I ordered Palella Tipica a seafood/chicken dish served on saffrion rice. on web site $19.95 @ location 1026 Alma St. Menlo Park,Ca. the lunch cost $23.95. On eye on the bay the food look great moist, and plenty of it. What I got was burnt (2) claims, black dryed out shrimp in shell un de-viened (5), and ringlets of small calimari, scallops tiny and rubbery. the rice dry. Over all a big dissapointment. I did call the manager and informed him of our visit. He did say he will update the web site prices. I also suggest he place the mandatory 19% on the web site as well. (all party size) :(

The only good thing about this place was the outdoor courtyard. We love Tapas and have been to many different places. We ordered 8 different small plates and only one of them was good....not even great just good. The service was awful...they add on 19% to your tab even for a party of 2. The waitress last Saturday during the day had not personality, mumbled when she talked and was so slow. Way better places than this one.

I finally had an occasion to bring me here. And I had no notion how large and cozy it is inside. What a surprise! You can eat tapas in lounge chairs in front of a fireplace!! My only hesitation was that tapas are such small dishes and price adds up quickly...we weren't quite sated despite many dishes ordered.

Great tapas at the bar
By ,
The bar, with a newly added back room and patio, is a great place to sample wines and a wide selection of excellent tapas. You can also order from the full restaurant menu.
