I used to be a regular at the East Village Coffee Lounge, but I am no longer going there.
The management sets a tone of being stern and cold and that gives off that vobration there. It is as if the management could care less about customer's concerns.
There are plenty of other coffee places in the area that treat their customers much better.
I love how East Village offers live music many nights a week and a poetry slam once a week. Its a really fun place to chill and the offer WIFI for free to so I often work there. The food is a bit expensive but otherwise I love the place.
Morgan's has recently changed hands, so things are not as they were. The location is one of the best in Monterey for a Coffee Shop and the best in Monterey for sun. The coffee is very good, much better than a certain competitor, although the food is only moderate in quality. Unfortunately the location and the ability to sit outside does attract an un-savory element here in Monterey, that aside you will find the local cycling club here on a Saturday morning from 9.30am onwards for sun, fun and coffee.
