I ate there today for the first time ever and I must say Francisco's is a great resteraunt. Beautiful landscape designs on the walls, friendly people, and delicious food. The Seafood Trio with ravioli is wonderful and the portion was enough to fill me and have some left over. Francisco himself was a delight, he came to our table and talked with us and my son had fun talking to him about the fish in the fish tank.
It is located right next to blockbuster and when you park and get out of your car you can smell the food and it is so refreshing.
Other resteraunts write bad reviews on him becase he is the one to beat. He is the former top chef of the old fishermans grado on fishermans warf and he still holds the record for best clam chowder.
Thank you Francisco for the wonderful evening and I hope many more to come!!
I live in Marina and would love to be able to recommend this restaurant to those who ask me where a good place to eat in this city is. I would send them to Jack in the Box or McDonalds before recommending this eatery!
I must be a brute for punishment as I have been coerced into returning to this restaurant 4 times since its opening with hopes, every time, that it has improved. I've always been disappointed and, each time, have vowed never to return again. After my last visit I will assuredly never return to this Beanery!
At best, the food could only be described on a scale ranging from mediocre to Lousy! Their Fish & Chips are the worst I've ever had! Just up the street is a KFC/Long John Silvers that puts out Fish and Chips that put Francisco's to shame at less than half the price.
I've tried menu items from low to high priced and have had the same experience. On my last visit I ordered the Key Lime pie that was, without a doubt, a frozen one. In and off itself it was not bad, however what was put on top and called whipped cream could only be described as tasteless GOUP!! When I ask the waiter what in God it was, he told me that it was fresh whipped cream and was House Made daily (a real joker that one). I replied that if it was, someone must have spilled the Manteca (cooking Lard) into it. Had they used Cool Whip it would have been more acceptable.
It's proprietor opened another restaurant in nearby Monterey that only lasted a few months. Apparently the folks in Monterey have more discerning pallets and would not accept such mediocre quality fare.
Excellent. My husband and I went there after a day in Monterey. We were starving and my husand is very very picky as to where he eats... The food was amazing.. The service was wonderful! We tried the prime rib.. it was to die for... We would drive all the way from San Jose again just to eat the prime rib again!!!!!
Fantastic service. Excellent food. It is great for people coming in from out of town that maybe want to stray off of the beaten path. The server was incredibly friendly and offered suggestions for our entrees. When you're in Marina/Monterey give them a try.
The food was fabulous! Very fresh and tasty. Well worth a visit, and definitely the best in Marina! The owner is very friendly, and made us feel welcome. Honestly, it was a surprising highlight on our trip to Monterey!
The service is always good , some of the customers are known by name , the food is excellent and their prices are great .Walk through the door you're sure to recieve a free smile. One of Marina's best cozy little restaurants. But don't take my word for it, try it yourself you have nothing to lose but to enjoy ........
