Monterey Bay Aquarium
This is one of the best designed aquariums going. A unique feature is the two-story tank, home to a kelp forest in which swim sunfish, sharks, and the occasional diver tasked with squeegeeing the algae off the tank walls. Sand dabs are displayed in shelf-like tanks ideally suited to the flat fish, and a school of sardines swim in an endless circle in their cylindrical tank home. If you want to interact with some aquatic dwellers, you're invited to pet the bat rays (oddly velvet-like). The jellyfish display shows that they are like something from another planet. Tickets USD24.95 adult; USD22.95 student, senior, child 13-17; USD15.95 child 3-12, disabled.
I absolutely love the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The aviary is really nice, because you really get up close with the birds. Another amazing attraction are the jelly fish. They have so many different species! The kelp tank is also a must see, as it's very, very diverse. The shark tank is amazing... there are lots of sharks in there, and they also have a sea turtle or two. If you're lucky, you might also see the sunfish! (To me, it looks like a big piece of fat, though.) The touch pools display a great variety of animals and plants, and as for the bat rays, touching one isn't all that easy. They tend to stay away from the humans. All in all, this is a really great aquarium. It's definately worth the trip!
I think the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a must see it is breath taking. It will take about five hours to see all of in glamor in there, if it is not crowded . If you can, go there in the week days or in the off season. And its well care for everything is very cleaner.
the Monterey Bay Aquarium is my favorite aquarium to visit. all the animals there are well cared for and happy, which is what I love to see at an aquarium. not to mention the great shows and food. I also like it because it is conveniently located right next to Cannery Row, which is a great place to shop. two thumbs up for Monterey!
I went to the aquarium of Monterey bay and it truly enchanted me. The architecture Is astounding as well as the layout. There is excellent food, events, and of course the animals are magnificent. There are many chances to interact with marine animals that are there. Although it is pricey, every penny that you pay is worth it. The best thing in my opinion was the scuba diving. You can use a hotsuit if you're between the ages of 9 and 12. As soon as you're 13 you can use a wet suit ( If you can swim)And there is a nice sized tidepool included with learning about marine wildlife. I really reccomend this aquarium.
I have visited this aquarium on various trips for over 10 years. It is worth seeing. The ideal time is to go during the week; there are elementary school age groups which visit almost daily but add to the excitement(if you like kids). Even if the weather is not good it will not effect your mostly inside viewing of the aquarium.
I find that four hours is sufficient for me to feel I have had a full tour of the place. I like to read most of the information for each sea life exhibited but not one to read every bit of knowledge available
The aquarium offers good food, a large book store, and plenty of variety of exhibits to catch one's interest. Enjoy
i visited the aquarium over the summer and i have to say that i completely enjoyed it everything they have is enjoyable very interesting place to see. i will go back there someday(hopefully soon) i would recommend it to anyone to go visit it
