Well I have called every restraunt I can think of in Montery and can t find one to take a party of 20, made one call spoke to Travis and he said no problem he made my day! I hope service and food is just as good
Some people have had issues with the wait staff or the amount of time to get their drinks, or even one person claiming they're not gay-friendly. As much as that stuff may be an annoyance, its the food that is most important to write about. And let me just say, I have been to this place 3 times and I have come to the conclusion that I will wait 2 hours to eat and would be willing to deal with a slow wait staff because the food is extremely good. I'm not a huge fan of seafood but this place is incredible!!! The macadamia crusted mahi-mahi is just amazing! The Alaskan king crab is out of this world. Everything I have ever ordered from here has been very very good. I have always had a good experience here and will continue to come back whenever i'm in the area. This is by far the best restaurant in the area if you want a nice, upscale place to eat. If you can get a seat overlooking the ocean its even better. Don't pass this place up. If you ate here once and weren't blown away, try it again. Every restaurant has a bad day once in awhile.
Tuesday May 24, 2011. The food is still fair to OK but the service from the very young unknowledgeable wanna be waitresses is just downright bad. Ten minutes from the time we sat down to even being acknowledged. Then add a few more minutes to order a drink. Then five more for the drink to come. As we left the manager was yukking it up with three maybe four girls up front. Would have been nice if someone would have taken our drink order while we waited for our server. For the price of what you pay for the food this place lacks of service and professionalism. I would not recommend it anymore. There was a time when the Charthouse restaurants were the best all the way around. Now there just another overpriced nicely located place to eat. If you walk in and see all female waitresses that look like they maybe just turned 21 either expect poor service or walk out. It's not what it used to be by far.
Great place. We have dinner here on ocassion. The service is great. We had two waitresses as well as the manager come by throughout the 2 hours we were there. The food is AWESOME! We did pay $150.00+, but you get what you pay for. GREAT SERVICE, VIEW, ATMOSPHERE, FOOD.
Don't expect a lot. I was living here in Monterey in 2002 and the Chart House was one of my favorites, both food and drinks. I returned there with my new wife after 8 years away expecting to show her something a little special in Monterey and in a really great dining experience. SOURLY disappointed !! First the waitress, though friendly, was more interested in trying to sell appetizers and deserts than providing good service. After we declined on the overpriced desert that supposedly was going to take 1/2 hour to prepare AND decided on an alternate appetizer suggested by the waitress we hardly saw her again. The chocolate martini that I had talked about for a day before we got there was some kind of a joke. It was made with cream and did not have the rim dipped in the great white chocolate of the past. When my wife's baked potato and fillet arrived the potato was covered with bacon bits (that she specifically ordered without) and the fillet was cold like it had been sitting in the window until the waitress decided it was her time to bring it to our table. We sent it all back and the manager brought out the same steak now cooked more so it was barely medium rare although now warm. The waitress returned to the table just in time for my wife to order a glass of wind that did not get there until 10 minutes after we started the meal. The check came for two entrees, one martini and one glass of wine for $98. Totally overpriced, poor service plus the food was absolutely nothing special and really lacked any flavor. This is the first review I have ever written but it is truly deserved buy the once great restaurant that has totally fallen by the wayside.
Great Restaurant with great service. We were celebrating our Anniversary and they had a beautiful and romantic table waiting for us. Keep in mind, we had our hotel book our reservations and I believe that is why we received such a great table. Food was excellent. Our server was professional and checked on us regularly even though it was a busy evening in the restaurant....
My husband and I travel a lot so we have been to some very nice restaurants. Our hotel recommended this place I think they get some sort of credit from them. Anyway the restaurant is beautiful but the service more like a dennys and the food not worth the cost by any means. Our soups tasted like out of a can. Our meals were so quick to come out that we barely enjoyed our selves. It was like they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. I believe the waitress judged us by how we looked. BIG MISTAKE as my husband used to bartend and is a good tipper. Overall experience poor it is a gimmicky restaurant not worth the cost.
PS we still tipped 20%
My fiance and I visited the Chart House while vacationing in Monterey. It is by far our FAVORITE restaurant. The food and service are excellent. The drinks are the best I've ever had. We liked it so much, we returned there every night for dinner and drinks. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
My fiancée and I were in attendance for dinner and were received warmly with outstanding and prompt service coupled with a smile from every employee. The restaurant was diverse; families, couples, and small groups. The atmosphere was very classy with a dimly lit/candle light setting. Drinks were offered in the waiting lounge and our waiter was attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. The menu offers a fair selection of fine dishes from seafood to steaks. Pricing was surprisingly reasonable. We did not have wine but noticed the table next to ours enjoying our favorite choice of wine from the Sterling Vineyards in Napa County. Our enjoyable evening ensured future repeate patronage.
