Don't RISK going here!

Good Parking, beautiful flowers and seating. Very rude staff, they don't acknowledge you when you walk in, expect to have your order taken after 20 minutes of being seated, expect different waiters at your table, and expect NO refills on your drinks. Expect your food to be messy, as if they just threw different ingredients on the plate and gave it to you.

very disappointing

The whole experience was very disappointing, greatly over priced mediocre food and wine with poor service. Our waiter never told us about the specials, the wine list was limited with over priced bad wines. Food was mediocre at best.

A Wonderful Experience

We liked everything: the food, the service, the atmosphere, the drinks, etc. We will definitely be back & have highly recommended Tarpy's to many friends & family. We were there on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006. Our grandaughter had been married on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the Monterey Beach Hotel. After checking out of our hotel in Carmel, we went with our daughter & son-in-law (the bride's parents)& our other two grandkids to Tarpy's. The eggs Benedict on crab cakes were wonderful as were the mimosa's, bread, etc. Our grandkids had raspbery pancakes & were very impressed. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Oasis

An oasis in the middle of nowhere. Try the meatloaf, anything on the menu is really good. The chefs will accommodate requests. Fun bar and romantic restaurant area...nice to dress up and go on a date here or meet a good friend for lunch dressing up not required ;)

Our "Little" Secret

We've tried them all, but it's always back to Tarpy's for us. A few minutes outside Carmel, but well worth the drive. Our favorite room is the Stone Room. Reservations suggested. Try the meat loaf, it's the best.

Comfort food . . . upscale

My fiance and I ate there last year and really liked the food. There is a very comfortable atmosphere, and the service is excellent. They have wonderful party areas, and we decided to have our rehersal dinner there. Overall, a great restaurant.

Man, was this recommendation over-blown....

While Tarpy's has a nice setting, our evening left a lot to be desired. It is difficult to tell how much related to the poor service (meals cold, coming out at different times, missed drink orders, etc.). The dinner took on the appearance of a banquet room. So, be forewarned....
