We had our wedding reception at the Patisserie in Oct of 2008 and we couldnt be happier - the food was delicious, Magdy is an incredibly gracious host and the ambience is unparalleled. If you are just going for lunch or dinner, the food is excellent and you will have a wonderful experience. If you are looking to host an event, the food continues to be delicous and you will build a memory meant for a lifetime.

I pick up lunch at the Patisserie at least once a week and it is always yummy. The Carmel Garden is a fav as well as the seafood salad sandwich. They have a vegetable filled fillo triangle with a dill sauce which is to die for, and of course the classic French Onion soup is superb. I highly recommend!
Went here twice in 2 days. first for desserts for which we got a cup of chocolate mousse and a banana chocolate thingie w/ whipped cream and mousse. Both very yummy! Next day we went for a brunch. Not a lot of vegetarian options but I did get the garden croissant sandwhich which had avocado, tomato, cucumber and a yummy basil mayo spread. House salad dressing is very good. A creamy Italian dressing. Hard to say if my girls shrimp crab sandwich was good as she obliterated it by dismantling all it all trying to dig out the green onions to discard. By the time she was finally done I was completely done eating and she was grossed out. Service was ok...not great. Overall feel of the restaurant is Victorian upper class and shabby chic. Clientele was very pretentious and ritzy. Not my scene at all, but it's to be expected when visiting Carmel. Noticed how out of date the wealthy look. Was like being on Rodeo Drive in Pretty Women at the time the film came out. Very early-mid 90's clothing and hairstyles. Was like a very bad time warp!
This is one of my favorite places in Carmel. I always go here whenever I'm visiting.
The atmosphere is very cozy and it is quiet and romantic. Their orange duck is fantastic. This time we were here on our honeymoon and they sat us in a private cove. We had a wonderful time.
The best thing is that their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it.
I usually get the quiche with fresh fruit. Their turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce is delicious too because it's real turkey with just the right condiments to accompany the flavor. The real reason to eat here is the desserts. French, how can you go wrong. My alltime favorite is the chocolate mousse cake. Share it unless you've starved yourself because it's very rich. The strawberry triangle is delicious too and so is the fruit tart. I have had the chocolate pudding type dessert, but the mousse cake is still my alltime favorite.
