Baja Cantina - Carmel, Carmel-By-The-Sea

Way over booked! (Servers said so and the end of our 2 1/2 ordeal) It was graduation night for the local middle school and we made a reservation for 10. When we showed up the place was packed beyond reasonable capacity. The servers were scrambled and forever lost in the kitchen trying to find people s orders that took well over an hour and 15 minutes to receive. It took 30 minutes just to get served our drinks. When the food arrived, it was staggered, some were just getting their food while others had already finished. and they served the youngest in the group a 3 year old LAST!!!! The food was way over priced and didn t taste like the prices they were charging for them. This experience left a bitter taste in my mouth and pocket book. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK and I m a local.

I have eaten at Baja Cantina for over 20 years and although the service is consistently bad on their outside patio I have continued to eat there because of the good food. NO MORE! Someone list up a cigarette just a few feet from where we were eating outside on the porch. When we asked them to put it out (two of us are asthmatics) they basically told us to get stuffed. The management were very disrespectful to us and basically told us tough break but they are allowed to smoke and they have a right to light up. They were very disrespectful, the waitress took 20 minutes to even come to our table to let us place our order and although she was apologetic I am saying, DONT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!! I know that you are allowed to smoke where people eat in other states, but not here! Yes, smoke outside the resteraunt if you must away from those of us that are eating and do not smoke. You have the right to smoke, away from people that don't. Dont' ruin my dinner because you feel the need to kill yourself. And yes, I used to smoke.

This place is wonderful! Great prices for the quality of food, good atmosphere, and you can't beat the service.

First of all I'm Mexican and live in Gilroy where we have many good mexican restaurants and I thought to myself, why am I leaeving Gilroy to go eat Mex food in Carmel?? I was very surprised that the service was great and food was very good and yes the Margarita was very good also. Would I go there again?? HELL YEA!!! Out of a 10 being the best, I would give Baja Catina a 7 or 8.

I LOVED THE MARGARITAS.I WASN'T VERY HAPPY WITH THE FOOD PORTION OR THE PRICE. I ALSO DIDN'T LIKE THE SERVICE. THEY WEREN'T VERY FRIENDLY. FOR A SLOW MONDAY NIGHT THE SERVICE WAS BAD AND THE FOOD TOOK FOREVER TO GET TO THE TABLE.

This place is very culture oriented inside and out. The food is good, average price. The service was bad, maybe because it was busy for a Tuesday night, but regardless, the quality of the service could have been better. The margarita I ordered, which was topshelf tequila, was watery and dissatisfying. I didn't even finish it. My friends were pleased with their meals but had the same to say about the service and drinks. I recommend trying but do not expect an incredible experience.

Great Food, great service, great atmosphere! I have been to this restaurant multiple times and it is a really fun place with amazing food i reccomend this restaurant to all!

Baja Cantina is a lot of fun....... we recently celebrated a 50th birthday party for my mother here! The food was fabulous, the customer service was excellent, and we will definitely will be back soon. I was so impressed with the professionalism I experienced when I made reservations that I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

From what I've heard and read I expected the food to be a little bit better being as it was moderately priced. It wasn't bad but could have been better.

The food is great, not too spicey but not bland either. Ambience is what Baja is all about. Dining on the patio with the band playing is just too much fun. We've gone back over and over, you should too!
