Rosine's Restaurant, Monterey

Don't know what the big deal is about this place. It was buzy but their food was pretty bad. Had a sandwich with potato salad. Their potato salad was definitely out of a can and the sandwich had very little meat (Reuben). Also the service was pretty disappointing. Rude waiter and a took a long time. At the end we ordered a slice of a carrot cake which was all cream and spunch but big. My wife had one spoon full and just couldn't get it down. Sorry I wish I had something better to say.

I practically live at Rosine's and have become a friend of the Culcasi family. The food is amazing, and the service has never been less than stellar unless the server is new, which I perfectly understand. The desserts are awesome, the prices reasonable and the portions HUGE (I usually get two meals out of each order.) I can't recommend Rosine's highly enough!

Long Time Customer: I have been visiting Rosine's from the beginning and I still go several times a week. A must for anyone who visits or lives in Monterey.

Amazing! I love Rosines. I moved to Monterey over a year ago and love taking visiting friends and family to have some of the delicious cakes. The menu is huge! With lots of choices. Everything thing on the menu is great! The soup is great, the sandwiches are to die for and the pasta is aaaaamazing! Save room for the cake!!!!

Discovered Rosine's last year on a whim. We were staying within walking distance and our hotel manager suggested this gem. It was later in the evening and still packed. The TALL, scrumptious desserts in the glass case made quite an impact when we first walked in, so ordering one was a given, even before we saw a menu. The atmosphere is ecclectic and lively. With two teenagers to please, we ordered chowder, angus burgers, salads and fettucine. All EXCELLENT! Our waitress had a great sense of humor and always kept our glasses filled and checked in regularly. We are preparing for our annual beach vacation and a younger member of our group said we MUST go to Rosine's again, no matter what. We will! Oh, BTW, the desserts were like heaven on a spoon and too much to finish.

We visited Rosines on a sunday evening only to find it packed full of people. It didn't really matter though because the food was excellent including the Chowder! We will have to come back for desert after looking at the generous desert menu!

I've only been there a couple of times, but was more than satisfied with the service, the food, the quantity and quality and the reasonable prices. Can't imagine a bad experience at Rosine's. The biggest problem one time was the crowd pushing on the street at the place next door. Otherwise, only good things to say....and the desserts - to die for.

overpriced and extremely salty. i was really disappointed in this place. i hear the desserts are good but didn't want to chance it after the main course.

Good food, good desserts, some times slow when serving if it's busy, otherwise pretty quick when it's dead; just had a bad experience when trying to place a take out order as it was my first time - the lady was very rude.
