Consistently good American-style Chinese food for the past million years! They make those pan friend noodles with just the right degree of crispness, and great chicken salad, and sweet and sour goodness, and deep fried things, and also do bountiful piles of bright, tasty greens to soothe your conscience.
I've eaten there a few times and it was good before, but not this last time. First of all, when I ordered an eggplant dish that was $5.55 on the menu, I was told it would be $7.95 because the eggplant was expensive when they bought it. That's more than a 43% increase! I don't know if it's legal to arbitrarily change the printed menu price, but, at the very least, I think it's unethical and a poor business practice. That didn't sit well with me, so I ordered mushroom chow mein instead. It had canned mushrooms and some salty gravy that was awful! I'm Chinese and grew up on good Chinese food, and that wasn't it! Then, when we went up to the counter to pay because the waitress didn't come back to our table after leaving the check, there were employees all around serving food, clearing tables, setting up tables, but no one came to the counter for at least 5 minutes. The restaurant is close to my work, but I don't think I'll ever eat there again.
Great food...Great prices...Great service! What more could you ask for? The soups are to die for! Some of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met in the restaurant business. The food is very fresh and very tasty!!!
I have been a loyal customer for the last 10 years and I have no complaints. The food is always fresh and good. Yes the rice and noodle servings may seem small but once you start eating you find it is much more than the normal person can eat. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
The food is great but they only give you a spoon full of Chow mein noodles. This is why I go is to have my Noodles. I always have to order extra Noodles on the side which angers me. I've heard other people also complain about the amount of chow mein .. Other then that it is very good food.
I really like their restaurant, I discoverd Golden when I frist moved to Fresno about 11 years ago. Their speciality is the broth, which is slowly cooked accroding the owner's half centery family recipes. I will have their soup not only in the winter time but also in the hot hot Fresno summer. When the wether is hot, it's very hard to have good appetite, having some homemake good soup is a good way for upset stomach. I love their menu, it's very simple unlike some Chinese restaurants always try to pack too many items into their menu, I think the most important thing for Chinese food is Fresh ingredients, for that I recommoned you to try this place.
