I got a call from my brother today regarding their experience at The Olive Garden today. It is my mother’s birthday and he took her to Olive Garden for lunch to celebrate.
First of all, he asked the waitress if she could do something special for my mother since it’s her birthday, such as a candle in a cake. The waitress said they don’t do anything for birthdays any more. 10 minutes later, they saw the employees take a cake and sing to a table nearby.
Then, my brother asked for a drink and the waitress kept coming back to the tables around them, but completely ignored them. Frustrated, my brother spoke to another waiter, and the waiter called the manager. The manager apologized and told them they did not have to pay for the meal. He also said he would speak to the waitress about her behavior.
The frustrating part is this was clearly a racist act as my mother wears traditional Middle Eastern clothing. The waitress should be fired as things of this nature should not be happening in 2012, even if it is Fresno and not the most forward thinking place.
I hope that this does not happen to anyone else. The waitress was working the lunch shift today, so if this happens to anyone else, I suggest you speak up as well. This type of behavior is not acceptable!
I went on my birthday last year. For an Italian restaurant the food was very good and more than enough. The service was not that great. The waiter we had was not very educated of what she was serving, but the food was good and the atmosphere was inviting. Good Place to eat if your craving pasta.
I haven't been to The Olive Garden in quite some time however; my last experience was A++ all the way.
The menu was excellent as far as flavor, proportions and price. The drinks were true drinks which are nice for a change; the courses were served with a relaxing amount of time between so A+ all the way. I must mention that we had an excellent server; I think his name was Wynden; He was friendly and on the ball with customer service. You should hope to be seated in his area. Hats off to All at Clovis Olive Garden.
Great people, Great food, and fast service. I wish there was more around, I drive all the way from way pass Ashlan and 99! I love how they offer me a wine sample. I try and buy it because of that service!
