I was at Crabcakes in the old location about 2 years ago. The food was ok but the shrimp salad may have given me a terrible case of the runs.. Although I wasn t positive it was the food I was in Oakhurstarearestaurants again about two weeks ago and the service was extraordinaty poor and so was our meal. My wife ordered salmon and ordered it cooked as salmon should be not dry and overcooked. The server seemed to be unaware what we were talking about and not very well trained or aware of his ineptness. I ordered fish and chips with fries and cole slaw. The fish was certainly frozen and fried out of a bag. There was hardly any fish inside the overly coated fish and was not fresh and was a poor choice on my part the waiter was not attentive or even curious why we only ate the cole slaw which was ok but also appeared to come from a bag. We were daring and ordered a desert which our waiter never showed up after our food was served and the busboy took care of us. We had to ask for water two times from the waiter that should be the busboy or out the door. The busboy also showed us the desert tray and we ordered what was supposed to be a tarimsu and when it came it a frosting in multilayered that actually was a carrot cake. The waiter finally brought us the boil not apologizing for the error and it took another 5 minutes to bring the bill. Being in a retail business and in a lot of restaurants whenever I travel this guy needs a new career but not in the food business. He was unattentve did not really care how we liked the food or knowledge of the menu. We did see the cook and he needs either better product to cook and prepare fresh food but in our case we would have enjoyed our meal at McDonald.s which we rarely go to and have a better meal. That is the bottom line. Today customers want freshly prepared food that tastes good. Does any owner at Crabcakes taste their food? I think not.. Don t go to Crabcakes.
