Santa Marians seem to love this restaurant. It was very busy when I went but that can be partly due to it being such a small space.
I felt that the food lacked spice. Everything just seemed to taste the same. I was really disappointed by paying $4.95 for this tiny order of guacamole.
I have had much better but, I have not been able to find a mexican restaurant out here. This was my first try and I hope that it will only improve.
Don't get me wrong. My daughter and I were hungry and it was food so it did the job.
For my taste it lacked flavor, portion, and value.
I grew up in Santa Maria, and have been eating here for years. No return home is complete without a visit to Casa Manana - the food here is fantastic, including the chips and salsa. Try their enchiladas - and yes, bring cash with you, they don't take cards.
The food here is excellent. We eat in, take out, and it is always great. It is small and older, but I don't go to restaurants for ambiance. The staff is attentive and helpful! We have never gotten a bad meal and we have been going for years! The cheese enchilada's are too die for!!
