One day my husband's boss and daughter took us out for a nice dinner at OSS. I ordered this very unique sweet/spicy twist on sushi dinner (which was incredibly pleasing to the palette and amazing), my husband had a marvelous cook-to-order steak which melted in your mouth. His employer's daughter had the calamari, which was cooked in an enormous portion and tasted ever-so fresh. Our glasses were always full and the owner and waitress were fast and friendly. Not to mention the actual restaurant itself is full of incredibly nostalgic vintage items. There were also beautiful calla lilies growing on a small walkway leading to the entrance that made it feel pleasant. The food was beyond our expectation and the service was not lacking in the least.
The owner was most accommodating, I'm sure he wouldn't let you leave if your experience is less than great, that was my impression at least.
*Simple casual dining in a cozy atmosphere. Location, Selection, Food Quality and Service run parallel in/with the competitively priced menu.
We searched this Tourism Community for something quick, easy and painless and found it at OSS. The seafood is fresh, the portions are above average and, the money we spent was well worth it.
My sisters, mom and I were looking for a place for lunch and ended up at Old Stone Station. It was a bit late for lunch so they weren't busy, good thing as we needed seating for 7, plus a baby. We felt comfortable and welcome from the time we walked in. Our waiter was great, he was friendly and helpful, glasses kept filled, etc. We all ordered something different and all enjoyed our food. Next time I'll get my own order of criss-cut fries! I've got no complaints whatsoever!
We were sorely disappointed in the food and the service both. My fiance ordered the fish special and it smelled 10 days old. Sadly it tasted the same way. I had the prime rib which tasted ok but only 1/3 of the serving was not fat or unchewable. Service was slow and sometimes mysteriously silly. One of the staff near the end of our meal continued to want to raise the blinds as the sun was finally setting, but at the same time she was setting lit chimneys on the tables(make up your mind!)and having the customers pass them around to get them where she wanted them...(?) All in all, a complete disaster.
OMG as the kids of today would say. This place is just superb. If you want a relaxing place with excellent food, OLD Stone Station is the place to go. My husband and I couldnt have picked a better place. The service is great, wine was delicious, our tuna stack was crazy delicious, and my husbands prime rib was the best he has ever had. If you are ever on the Central Coast of California, you must stop at this great place in Cambria for lunch or dinner, sit upstairs and enjoy your food while overlooking a beautiful view
This place was awesome! My husband and I were supposed to go to another place but at the last minute we wanted relaxed & casual and we ended up at the Old Stone Station & it was fabulous! We not only enjoyed a wonderful prime rib dinner but the service and ambiance were just superb. Thank you for making our romantic getaway even more romantic.
