Elephant Bar Restaurant, Goleta

Long time customer to this restaurant...Goleta and Bakersfield. I have to say that their menu remains the best! If there is any flaws, it must be in management. Let s face it, management is the core representation to its business, and he/she trains his/her people well. Next time you have a night out at the Elephant Bar Restaurant and you are dissatisfied, call the manager on duty and he/she will make it right.

I give this place a 0 for the service and 4 for the food. Never have a big party there. Service was horrible, manager was rude, bill was over charged, menu was wrong, dishes were dirty and it took more then an hour to get the bill.

Waitress did not listen to me as I explained what I wanted and that I was allergic to an item. Had to tell her over and over again. Finally they brought the meal and sure enough the item was there that I was allergic to. They took it back and returned with the worst salad, all the lettuce was brown and nasty. Used to be a very good meal and now it is mediocre at best. Get a clue E-Bar.

E-bar used to be a great place to go with my family. They used to have good food and service. I don't know what happened but lately when we have gone we have waited at least 15 minutes before a waitress/waiter even comes and takes our drink order, then the food takes a very long time, then your waitress/waiter disappears doesn't refill drinks unless you ask. The taste and quality in food has gone downhill since they changed their menu to Asian. I used to go there just for their potato skins of course that is one of the things they took off the menu. I want my old E-bar back. My family and I won't be going back again.

After a 30 min wait to be seated, which was fine it was 12:30 busy time for lunch, we ordered our drinks and then our food. After waiting another 20 mins for our drinks, as they were out of glasses (I have never heard of that happening). Our Waitress did apologize, and things were ok we were having a good time talking and weren't hugely thirsty or starving yet. Our drinks arrived about the same time as our food which was good, nothing amazing about it. Although our waitress didn't know the dessert specials we were talking about so she had to get a menu, she said she was new. All in all it was ok food and service but for the prices and wait time I would not make an effort to go back to this restaurant.

This is the original Elephant Bar Restaurant. It's right next to (or on top of) the local Santa Barbara Airport, so outside seating is against the bizjet parking lot. Although always crowded, like most Elephant Bars, they'll serve you the same menu in the nonsmoking bar as in the restaurant. Very loud, so its great for kids. Food is pan-asian american so plan on a typical menu like TGIF with an asian flair. Food is great. Service is great, but always crowded. The menu changes often so they always have new specials as well as maintaining some local favorites. Personally, we eat at other Elephant Bars in Southern California often. The food is consistently excellent for the value.
