Paradise Cove Lodge
Over 50 years ago Bo and Margaret Williams bought a piece of property overlooking the majestic mountains and the new lake where they dreamed of building a future. In 1955 he built the cafe, but it was ten years later and after he built the lodge that the family was able to move to the valley permanently. In 1969 the cafe burned to the ground. A year later Bo added a kitchen to the to the lodge lobby to make a new dining room. Several years later the dining room was expanded and the saloon was added. Bo loved a party and Margaret enjoyed entertaining.
We booked from Denmark. We came to the place and saw the rooms and restaurant. It was all dirty, cold rooms, place untidy outside and bathroom a disaster - we simply went to find something elsewhere in Kernville. Not to recommend to anyone. The owner charged my credit
card though we had a choise to stay or not!!!
My boyfriend and his child and I went up to Paradise Cove fron Friday night till Sunday morning (July 4th weekend) and it was a nioe motel. The location is right across the street from Paradise Cove Lake which was really nice and the customer service was great. Our 3-year old got to pet their very friendly goat and their husky. They brought us extra pillows really quickly and cleaned our room when we went out. Very clean, location was great and customer service was great.
This place is great because it is literally right across the street from the Lake. The service was great, they were very attentive. They have a restaurant above and a bar right at the same location. I have since gone back once more and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place. Keep in mind though, if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, you shouldn't be going to Lake Isabella.
We were excited about the location and number of beds available at this motel. However, we were upset to see that bathroom tiles were halfway falling off the wall outside the shower and the drain in the bottom of the shower was broken with a jagged edge exposed. No privacy door signs were provided and the staff bothered us too early to clean the rooms, not just once but 2 or 3 times! Also, the room was showing its age and the cooler and fan were really noisy. The room would have been pretty good for the price if not for these problems.
