Their dishes on menu (not buffet) are the worst food I've ever had, expensive and worse than chinese fast food, wrong flavor, wrong ingredients, wrong color, wrong cooking methods. DO NOT order Kungpao chicken if you want meat in your plate, they only give you 3 pieces.
I have never eated so bad chinese food before. It made me vomitted 2 hours after i ate it, and had diarrhea 9 times in the follow 2 days....I almost thought i need to go to the hospital for food poisoning. when my friens and I arrived, we waited in the front desk for about 25 minutes. After we got in, we waited for 45 minutes for food. by the time they served us food, we were already starving. even so, i couldn't eat 1/5 of the food amount i generally eat because it is too nasty. oh, they did not give us soda until we finished our first dish. and the late water down soda cost 2 dollars.
I am wishy washy on this one. What I like about Ming is the easy parking (Kmart shopping center), entrance, decor, and Mongolian BBQ. What I didn't like was the tiny little buffet part. Definetely could use a few more items. But the Mongolian BBQ was good and made up for it. Service was standard. O.K. to take kids or your new $30,000 a year UCSB student.
To sum it up, if you are out in the UCSB/Kmart area and need a quick average chinese meal than this place is it, cause there ain't no other chinese restaurant that is close, Bubba.
Delicious, and reasonably priced, who could ask for more?

The lunch buffet can't be beat. It's wonderful for UCSB staff on limited time and budget to sit down to a wonderful buffet, have the chef prepare your own selection, or order from the menu. Their specialty is their fresh seafood, prepared as you request.
Best Chinese Food in town. Espcially the seafood, they have live tanks where you can pick your own lobster/fish/crab, etc and its the most authentic chinese food in Santa Barbara County. Try the new mongolian bbq which is similar to a benihana's grill. its very good and good for the price, m-th they have a special east-meets-west buffet and it is to die for. good for families and even for lively dates. Chinese menu upon request * you know its good when you got that*
